Free Realms – Gameplay

El exitoso juego de Sony Online Entertainment dará en breve, el próximo 29 de marzo, el salto a PlayStation 3 a través de descarga digital en PS Store.

El juego dispone actualmente de una modalidad gratuíta en la que el jugador puede acceder a cientos de misiones y llegar a alcanzar el nivel 4. Existe otra modalidad de pago mediante la cual acceder a nuevas misiones y poder alcanzar hasta el nivel 40 de momento.

Prey 2 – Teaser tráiler

5 años han pasado ya desde que Prey llegara a PC y XBOX360, un proceso casi interminable de desarrollo que dió lugar a un juego bien valorado dentro de la industria. Después de un tiempo Bethesda Softworks nos presenta el primer tráiler de la continuación.

Según nuevas informaciones para la revista Game Reactor (cuya portada se puede ver parcialmente en la imagen) actualmente el título se encuentra en desarrollo para XBOX360, plataforma en la que se está trabajando en su versión incial, aunque también aparecerá para PlayStation3 y PC, pero no contará con ninguno de los sensores de movimiento de ninguna de ellas. Nuestra aventura comenzará igual que ya lo hizo la primera parte, sólo que esta vez bajo la visión de otro protagonista, Killian Samuels. La estructura del juego será semiabierta, permitiéndonos elegir según qué misiones y no contará con modo multijugador, aunque sí con un modo de infiltración además de permitir customizar las armas.

Según los desarrolladores, el juego combinará aspectos de otros títulos en el mercado, de Mirror Edge para los movimientos, de Mass Effect por la libertad de movimiento y de Killzone 2 para los combates.

Outland – Imágenes, tráiler e información

Sin llegar a ser una experiencia tan sencilla y magistral como Limbo para Xbox 360, muy pronto, esta misma primavera, llegará a PlayStation Network y Xbox Live un juego de acción de desarrollo horizontal que nos sumergerá en un entorno espiritual, sofisticado y futurista al igual que su guerrero protagonista, mezclando plataformas y combates con gran acierto.

Tras el desarrollo del juego se encuentra Housemarque, creadores de Super Stardust HD o Dead Nation. Una vez comenzado, podremos ver una escena cinemática presentando al protagonista, sin nombre, en un viaje por encontrar redención y paz en busca del shaman místico que le guié en el camino para localizar a las dos diosas que crearon el mundo y que ahora sin embargo pretenden destruirlo.

Bajo esta premisa, el argumento dicta el propio final del juego, como deja claro Adam Sarasohn, el productor, con una batalla final con esas dos hermanas diosas. Para llegar hasta ellas nos remontaremos desde los inicios del juego a 30,000 años en el pasado, reviviendo el antiguo conflicto que ha llevado a esta situación. Comenzaremos manejando aspectos muy básicos para ir adquiriendo nuevas habilidades a medida que avanzamos, así como nuevas armas y en busca de artefactos aqncestrales que se encuentran muy bien escondidos en cada nivel. Haciendo alarde de la dualidad que propone el argumento en todo momento (el mal y el bien, las dos diosas, destrucción y creación), la propia jugabilidad se ve afectada por el mismo síntoma y el botón L2 nos permitirá cambiar nuestra energía a azul o roja, haciéndonos vulnerables a los ataques del color contrario al elegido, lo que otorga al juego de una gran dosis de acción.

El juego no sólo contará con un modo para un jugador. Entre los otros modos disponibles encontraremos el Modo Arcade, que nos permitirá cruzar los escenarios intentando batir los records y acceder a los marcadores mundiales. Además contará con dos modos cooperativos, uno para la propia historia, dentro de la cual además podremos desbloquear ciertas zonas sólo accesibles eligiendo esta modalidad, y las habitaciones de retos especiales cooperativas donde un jugador maneja la oscuridad o la luz a diferencia del modo cooperativo normal donde ambos jugadores pueden elegir en todo momento.

Cabe mencionar que estos modos cooperativos sólo estarán disponibles online, una medida que han adoptado para que el jugador pueda tener una visión en pantalla completa sin mermar la experiencia visual que supondría tener una pantalla partida si hubiera sido local.

Falta ahora esperar a que el juego llegue a Europa y, en caso de que así sea, si estará traducido e incluso doblado.

Mortal Kombat 9 – Así serán las ediciones Kollector y Ultimate con arcade stick

La llegada de Mortal Kombat 9 prevista para el próximo mes de abril, contará, además de con la edición estándar, con otras dos lujosas ediciones a las que han llamado Kollector y Ultimate.

La Edición Kollector estará acompañada por unas figurillas y un libro de arte conceptual del juego además de un código especial de desbloqueo para un nuevo traje adicional, avatares y temas especiales, todo en un estuche de diseño especial a 91,99€ precio de venta recomendado.

Por su parte, la Edición Ultimate se acercará a los 149,99€ y además de contar con los contenidos de la Edición Kollector, contará con un arcade stick que está diseñado para hacernos sentir las mismas emociones como si estuviéramos jugando en una recreativa.

Enslaved – Review

Más de 14 semanas para jugarlo, episodio a episodio como si de una serie se tratara, Enslaved: Odyssey to the West me ha dejado un sabor a Uncharted pero con el elemento novedoso de una aventura nueva, sin estereotipos y nada previsible. Una jugabilidad muy sencilla que además hace intentos por introducir nuevos elementos y diferentes formas de presentar otros conocidos, unos personajes carismáticos a los que se termina cogiendo aprecio, quizá no hasta el punto de emocionarse con un final tan abierto como la imaginación del jugador quiera, pero sí para querer continuar con ellos en una futura aventura, con aquellos que se pueda, claro.
